Wise Girl Workshops volunteers in the Petaluma community!

This past Saturday 6 amazing girls from our grades 7/8/9 program joined together. Meeting at Lucchesi Community Park, girls teamed up with the Miracle League North Bay and the Petaluma Rotary Club. Girls matched up as “buddies” to kids with disabilities. Wise Girls supported these awesome kids by setting up, playing an inning of baseball, and helping with a scavenger hunt.

Volunteering in the community is a new venture Wise Girl Workshops. This experience is one we are looking to do more of. Because giving girls the opportunity to volunteer builds confidence. In addition, girls develop life skills, build relationships, and feel great about how they spend their time. Undoubtedly, each one of the girls said they couldn’t wait to come back and volunteer again!

Also, did you know research shows one of the keys to happiness is finding purpose. I found my purpose in high school through being a teacher’s assistant in my school’s classroom for disabilities which led me to pursue a career in social work (which I totally ❤️). Through opportunity, Wise Girls are inspired to make a difference in the world. What better purpose could there be?!
