Our Wise Parent Workshops series hosts a variety of workshops because all benefit to grow. Whether it’s help with worry and anxiety, setting limits with the phone, differentiating between teen sadness and depression, or normal teen development (to name just a few topics), navigating the waters of raising a kid or teen requires expert knowledge. And let’s face it~not one kid comes with a manual.

In this one hour workshop, parents will walk away with knowledge and tools to help your tween or teen daughter know:
*How to know when she’s ready to be intimate
*The importance of enthusiastic consent
*How to keep herself safe
*Existing pressures and how to handle them

Event will be on zoom from 7-8PM PST on Thursday March 28, 2024
Zoom link will be sent to registrants prior to the event.
Recording and slides will be available for parents who are unable to make the live event. However, the question and answer period will not be recorded to allow for privacy of participants.

Helping Anxious Kids Workshop Series
For Parents with Elementary Age Youth (All Gender Workshop)
Join us for a 6 week series focused on how to best support your child when it comes to living well with anxiety. This workshop series helps parents understand why kids are anxious and gives helpful tools to be truly effective in helping their child tolerate and alleviate anxiety.

Wise Parent Book Club:
For Parents with Elementary Age Girls
STARTS TUESDAY OCTOBER 17, 2023
All right all you parents with elementary age girls! I’ve got some good news for you!
First off, let me tell you the why before I tell you the what.
Every time I start a new round of Wise Parent Workshops for those with teen girls, I ALWAYS get emails coming in with parents of elementary age girls eager to join. The anticipation of the teen years evokes a lot of feelings for many parents that they are ready to do anything possible in hopes of getting prepared.
I always ask these parents to hold off as a group of teen parents want to be with other parents who are in the same boat.
But I get it! Your past experience as a teen as well as parenting the child you have now can spark some big fears and a desire to get ready!
So, that’s why I am offering our elementary age parents a group to help them feel prepared. We are going to start a new cohort of the Parent Book Club where together we will read Lisa Damour’s book Untangled: Guiding Teenage Girls Through the Seven Transitions into Adulthood.
This is the BEST book to read BEFORE entering adolescence and then as a great refresher book to read as your daughter goes through it. It’s a worthy read and sets the tone for what’s to come. And seriously, all parents I have read this book with have found it invaluable in their lives. If there ever was a guidebook on parenting teen girls, this is it!

We’ll meet on the following Tuesdays, 1x/month from 7-8:15PM PST on zoom. We will create a safe space for parents to come together to gain support, learn, and grow. I can’t wait!

Wise Parent Workshops: Growing Wise Teen Daughters
For Parents with Teen Girls
STARTS SEPTEMBER 12, 2023!!
Please join Sierra Dator, MSW, LCSW of Wise Girl Workshops for a monthly parent support workshop series focused on developing impactful strategies to parent at your best. We will meet 1x/month for 7 months in a small group setting allowing for individualized attention and meaningful connections. This is the perfect space for parents who want to learn and grow. Kindness, respect, and tolerance are key values all participants are asked to bring to each workshop.
Each workshop will have a small presentation led by Sierra. Even if the topic doesn’t apply to you now, rest assured, at some point it will. Come learn from Sierra and other amazing parents who have a wealth of knowledge, empathy, and a strong desire to parent and live well.
