How Wise Girl Workshops Started In The Petaluma Community
Wise Girl Workshops began in 2011. Sierra started a part time private practice and founded her first group for girls. That group experience lasted for 3 straight years, where girls came together each week to support one another. These girls stuck together from grades 7th through 10th grade. Clearly, it was a powerful process! Girls developed close relationships and a bond that lasts a life time.
Wise Girl Workshops aims to create a sense of community and connection like the group these workshops was founded on. In fact, once you are a Wise Girl, you are a Wise Girl for life! We want girls to always feel at home with us, and we desire girls to have an entry point to our program at all ages and stages of life. Therefore, programs are offered for girls in grades 3rd-11th. Wise Girl Workshops keep the groups small to allow for personal connection and for girls to be heard and seen. It is vitally important for girls to feel the big impact this innovative program provides.
